Hi and welcome to my little corner of the web. My name is Kate and I am a full time jewelry artist and part-time costumer. I make chain maille jewelry, and help my friend Karen (http://curiouscatclothing.com) to create a broad range of costumes, including Renaissance clothing, Sci-Fi costumes, corsets, Hawaiian shirts, and hats.
I started this journal to share my newest creations.
I am in business with two other women, Misha and her mother Maryanne. They make crocheted goods like wrist bags, jewelry, and clothing accessories. I decorate their creations with beads of all sorts. We started working together to facilitate out creativity and make a little extra cash to keep us in supplies. I love working with these ladies and have a lot of fun planning projects.
I have recently entered into the world of weaving. I am experimenting with tablet or card weaving. I plan on turning my woven bands into jewelry, purses, belts, and perhaps trim for our costumes (If I am feeling ambitious in the future. :P)
I attend several Sci-Fi conventions, with my friend Karen, each year to sell my jewelry and our costumes. These include Archon in Collinsville, IL, Vision Con in Springfield, MO, Conflation here in St. Louis, MO, and this year we are going to attend Windy Con in Chicago, IL for the first time. I also am vending my jewelry at the Pagan Picnic in Tower Grove Park easch June. I am searching for other venues to sell my wares.
Please feel free to visit us at http://libragear.com . Thanks. :)
